snipz

snipz is a minimalistic, simple, api first snippet management tool.

snipz is in early development and once it is at a reasonable (first working version) it will be made available as a MS Windows application and an open API which can be used with the application or incorporated into any other application.

API

The API specification in OpenAPI v3 format will be available as soon as the code is at an initial stable release and will be linked here.

Windows Application

As an initial application example using the snipz API we have developed a windows (WinForm) application. Yes, this is ‘old tech’ but it is just an exercise to utilise the API

Plans are for a future .NET MAUI project to develop a completely cross-platform snips application suite across Web, Desktop (Mac and Windows - Sorry Linux, talk to Microsoft about Linux support in MAUI), iOS and Android devices.

Service

The intention with snipz is to make the api and the client application (as an example of how to use the API) available as open source. You will be freely able to use the API to run your own private snipz server if you so wish.

In addition, as an experiment, snipz.io will host a snipz service to a limited audience (to keep costs down). Depending on popularity and usage this service may evolve in as yet unknown ways.
